Preparing for a mobile mechanic visit

Confirm access, location and the scope of the visit.

Confirm the service area

Give the mechanic the actual vehicle location, vehicle details and a description of the problem. Ask whether the requested work can be assessed or completed there. A listing does not establish that every address or repair is covered by a mobile service.

Describe the working space

Explain whether the vehicle is on a driveway, in a garage or at another location. Mention access restrictions, parking rules and available space. Let the mechanic decide whether the setting is suitable; agree an alternative arrangement if the location cannot accommodate the work.

Clarify the appointment

Confirm the arrival window, contact number and any call-out or diagnostic charge. Ask who supplies parts and what happens if the visit identifies work that needs a workshop. Discuss authorisation before the appointment so unexpected findings do not create uncertainty.

Prepare the handover

Keep keys, relevant service records and your symptom notes available. Arrange access with the person responsible for the location and remain reachable during the visit. Before the mechanic leaves, ask for the invoice, findings and any agreed next steps in writing.
